What is a GP race?
A Grand Prix (GP) race is a variation of the hare scramble format that is typically shorter and held on faster, more open courses. GP races are spectator-friendly and feature a unique layout for each event, combining grass/motocross tracks with flowing woods trails to create an exciting loop.
How is it scored?
With the exception of Micro, all other races will consist of 2 motos. You add your score of each of your finishes together for a total. Lowest score wins. Tie-breakers are determined by which racer finished better in the second moto.
Is there overall awards?
No, with GP races only class finishes are awarded.
If my machine breaks down in moto 1,
can I race a different machine in moto 2?
Yes, you can’t switch machines during a race. However, you can race moto 2 with a different machine than moto 1. As long as the machine meets the rules requirement for the class.
How long is the course?
Adult course 3-5 miles, Youth 3-5 Miles, Intermediate 1-3 miles, Micro 1-2 miles
How long are the motos?
Adult (2) 45 minute motos, Youth (2) 30 minute motos, Intermediate (2) 30 minute motos, Micro (1) 30 minute moto
Can I race multiple classes?
Adults are only allowed to register in one class each day. Micro, Intermediate, and Youth aged kids can race in multiple classes as long as their age and machine meet the requirements of the classes, this includes adult classes.
Do I need a transponder?
Yes, the race will be scored using the Event Scoring System E55000 transponders that are used at most other local series.
How do drops work?
There will be 1 drop for year end awards. This will be your worst finish out of 9 races. DNF counts as a race
